Tobramycin (CONSAC) 3 mg/mL Ophthalmic Solution 5 mL is a topical antibiotic used to treat external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria. Tobramycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the elimination of the infection. This medication is suitable for both adults and children and is commonly prescribed for conditions such as bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis.
Indications of Tobramycin (CONSAC) 3 mg/mL Ophthalmic Solution 5 mL
This ophthalmic solution is indicated for the treatment of external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria, including:

Other superficial ocular infections
Dosage and Administration of Tobramycin (CONSAC) 3 mg/mL Ophthalmic Solution 5 mL

Mild to Moderate Infections: Instill 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 hours.

Severe Infections: Instill 2 drops into the affected eye(s) hourly until improvement, then reduce the frequency as directed by a healthcare provider.
Administration Instructions:

Wash hands thoroughly before use.

Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to maintain sterility.

Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

Instill the prescribed number of drops into the pocket.

Close your eyes gently and press the inner corner of the eye for 1–2 minutes to prevent drainage.

If using other eye medications, wait at least 5–10 minutes before applying them.
Contraindications of Tobramycin (CONSAC) 3 mg/mL Ophthalmic Solution 5 mL
Do not use this medication if you have:

Hypersensitivity to tobramycin or any other aminoglycoside antibiotics.

Known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

Common side effects may include:

Serious side effects are rare but may include severe allergic reactions. Discontinue use and seek medical attention if you experience symptoms such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
